SUMMARY

• This role falls in the Engineering Group (not IT)
• Lead middleware software development in a fast paced, agile engineering group
• Implement code to coordinate communication between a RESTFul web API and other subsystems
• Design, build, and maintain federated systems across physical and virtual environments
• Design, build, and maintain statistics collection, aggregation, and reporting
• Work closely with project management, UI developers, networking engineers, QA, and support to deliver products from inception to customer delivery and installation
• Constantly evolve as cloud computing environments continue to change

REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years of Java development with focus on enterprise application development
• Strong experience in reporting and analytics with thorough knowledge of SQL and ETL techniques
• 8+ years of Linux including scripting and understanding of system administration
• Experience with Spring, Hibernate, Jersey, Junit, Multi-threaded programming
• We are looking for a person who has built a production quality system, deployed it, and maintained it

DESIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

• Understanding of advanced networking concepts
• Java Script programming, primarily to help debugging interactions between back end and front end

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience working with horizontally scaled distributed server-side applications;
• Experience implementing server-side technology for scalable crawling, indexing and analysis;
• Experience mining insights from social media data set.
• Experience extracting information from mobile only sites. Exposure to iOS, Android.
• Proven expertise developing high availability, scalable, performance-oriented multi-tier enterprise applications;
• Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to solve complex design and coding problems;
• Experience in Java threading and concurrency with efficiently utilization database, network and file system resources;
• Very strong hands-on technical experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Storm, Kafka.

As a Principal Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to design and implement test infrastructure and to drive the direction of the team towards ever increasing automation and quality. This includes the opportunity to work on building code and tools to span the breadth of the testing universe- enabling insight about timing, customer usage and failure analysis, generating test data, and simulation. You will work in a small, cross-functional team that iterates and improves, and work on difficult problems spanning both functional domains and technical depth. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with development, product management and other testers to create test cases and automate testing
• Work with development to build code and tools to gain additional insight- timing, failure analysis, monitoring
• Build sophisticated and maintainable automated test frameworks and suites to test our universe of products and components
• Research emerging technologies, tools and platforms and ascertain when, how or if they should be used
  Continuously improve the automation, speed, quality and ease of testing

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive experience with SaaS applications
• Strong core technical coding skills: Java, Spring, Hibernate
• Strong core database skills, especially with SQL
• Experience building platforms from scratch
• Experience with SLA/load test frameworks such as JMeter and Grinder is a plus
• Experience with test and CI frameworks like Karma, jUnit, TestNG and Bambo or Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure and Hadoop
• Ability to articulate test cases and create test plans
• Ability to prioritize test cases based on risk analysis
